THE GAME IS NOT ALL ABOUT WINNING

In the name of Allah, the most Merciful, the most Beneficient.

Allahumma Solli ala Muhammad, wa ala aali Muhammad.

What a game/play means to you?

This question comes to my mind, after seeing some of my friends determination to win, win and to win the game they play. I don’t mean that I’m against their will to make sure the games are on their side, but I really think that game is not all about winning, and its okay to lose, as the game outcome is always one side win and one side lose. The probability is always 50%, regardless their performance. And for surely, if one team set their aim to win, and afraid to lose, if they win, they will enjoy their glory but if they lose, they will get nothing but tiredness and nothing more.

Our aim is to enjoy the game and train ourselves to “salamatus sadr” (to tolerate) either with our own teammates or opponent or with the outcome of the game. Whats more important that we try our best. Play with no pressure and stress free.

Appreciate other things beside winning itself.

Don’t you feel great to play, to laugh, to worry, to be together in one team. The powerful effect of sharing and cooperation is it will make you feel more alive and kicking. And for surely the quality of time that we spend to practice is worth than your time being alone.

I was a basketball player in my secondary school. I still remember during the very first year of training, we the juniors have to mop the court after raining and make sure there’s no spot of water left. We just stood up outside the court and watch seniors team games, help passing water to them and cheering them loudly. Seriously at that time me and my friends feel like it’s of no use but it turns up to be one of our best memories and it helps to flourish our love to basketball.

Lets us strengthen our ukhuwwah in this event of KSPCI. Never mind either you lose or win, you are still part of Rumah Merah, part of Perubatan Alex, one of my friend, one of my sister.

Lets us renew our intention to play, is not to show who is the best, or to acknowledge who is the leader, but is only to get Allah’s blessing and mercy by bonding true ukhuwwah, and to appreciate healthy time before sickness come.

LETS THE GAME BEGIN!

I want to share this hadith:

روى الإمام مسلم في صحيحه، عن أبي هريرة رضي الله عنه، عن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، أنه قال: “المؤمن القوي خير وأحب إلي الله من المؤمن الضعيف، وفي كل خير، احرص على ما ينفعك، واستعن بالله ولا تعجِز، ولا تقل لو أني فعلت كذا لكان كذا، ولكن قل: قدر الله وما شاء فعل. فإن (لو) تفتح عمل الشيطان

Imaam Muslim in his Saheeh from Abu Hurayrah, may Allah be pleased with him, the Messenger of Allah peace be upon him, he said: “The strong believer is better and more beloved to Allaah than the weak believer, and all the best, be careful on what will benefit you, and seek the help of Allah, nor less if I had done as well as for the well, but say: God forbid, and willing to do. the (if) the opening work of the devil “

Allahu taala A’alam.
